DAVE'S FAVES - FREE DOWNLOADS

theCAUSE has unveiled its FIRST VOLUME of a SERIES OF FREE FULL-PAUSE DOWNLOADS entitled, "DAVE'S FAVES, VOLUME ONE."  The first Pause released in this series comes from one of our most favorite shows we ever played at MOONDOG'S in Blawnox on DECEMBER 2, 2006.  This show features the vocal stylings from BOTH of our most favorite females, CHERYLANN HAWK & ALI SCHELIN!  There are many sweet 3-part harmony tunes ("Let The Good Times Roll", our first performance of "Candyman", "He's Gone" and "Crazy Fingers" - just to name a few!), as well as some SICK jamming ("Don't Think Twice, It's All Right", "Bird Song" and "Never Alone", for example).  This show comes complete in its entirety, with all the magic and even the imperfections that don't seem so bad, amidst the magic!  We hope you'll enjoy this show and continue to rock on with us as we head into our 5th year as a band.

"DAVE'S FAVES VOLUME TWO" is now available!!  The second Pause in our series of FREE DOWNLOADS comes from our second-to-last Pause of 2007 (just a bit over a year after Dave's Faves, Vol. I) - a really fun night of music tha took place on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15th at P.D.'S PUB in Squirrel Hill!!!  There are some killer tunes on here, including the first set closer of "Eyes Of The World" > "Music Never Stopped" and, of course "Mason's Children" and "Stella Blue" (available on this site, already).  There are a few rippin' original tunes, as well - "(Like A) Firefly", "Never Alone" and "Sophia" all come together wonderfully and you'll find the whole show has a great energy to it.  Complete with all the tightness and the clammery, we hope you'll enjoy the 2nd in our series of FREE DOWNLOADS!

So we had our Annual Halloween Party and invited out spooky Guitar Goddess, Patti Spadaro!  This turned into "DAVE'S FAVES VOLUME III" and is FILLED with great moments!!  Check out JILL PAONE SIMMONS on the Donovan classic, "Season Of The Witch."  CHERYLANN HAWK, JILL & PAPPY team up for a superbly haunting rendition of "Death Don't Have No Mercy."  This was a very special show and was billed as the Rat Dog After-Party.  A whole slew of RD fans came out after Bobby & the boys threw it down and we had a wonderful time.  ENJOY!!

WITH SPECIAL GUEST, ALI SCHELIN!

The 5th in our FREE DOWNLOAD SERIES comes from a really intimate and wonderful night of music at McGROGAN'S TAPROOM.  There was a great vibe going on that night and our beloved soundman/drummer/archivist MIKE SOUTH managed to capture it and give it a great re-mix.  Highlights from this show include our first take on the Pigpen classic, "Operator," sung by DAVE TAUBERG, as well as wicked versions of, "Estimated Prophet," "Hard To Handle," and CHERYLANN's original song, "A Little Nudge."  This was our first show of 2009 and we rung in the new year with a good one!  We hope you'll enjoy DAVE'S FAVES VOLUME FIVE!!

It's been awhile since our last installment in this series, but WELL worth the wait...
We PROUDLY present, in its entirety, our 3-hour set from POTTER COUNTY XVI!  Recorded on July 4th, 2009 in the Barn, theCAUSE - along with ALI SCHELIN and first-time Potter-goer, Guitar Goddess, PATTI SPADARO, this set is PACKED with some really amazing gems.  The mix by MIKE SOUTH is near-perfect.  The vibe throughout the set is wonderfully loose and playful with the attentive tightness to the music we've worked on for so long.  Breakout performance of the Brent Mydland rocker, "Blow Away," sung by ALI, is just wonderful.  CHERYLANN HAWK sings a beautiful rendition of her original song, "The Load," as well as gorgeous interpretations of, "High Time," and, "Box Of Rain."  JILL PAONE SIMMONS lays down the law with a smokin' version of the Dorothy Love Coates gospel classic, "Strange Man," as well as our first live performance of, "Sittin' On Top Of The World," a la early-days Grateful Dead.  PAPPY whips out a killer, "Lazy Lightning > Supplication," and the big finish of "Saint Stephen > Cassidy > St. Stephen > Wharf Rat > Help On The Way > Slipknot! > Never Alone > Franklin's Tower," is simply monstrous.  Sit back and enjoy a FREE DOWNLOAD of DAVE'S FAVES VOLUME SIX!!!
